Flexible, Accessible Therapy from the Comfort of Your Home, Office, or Car.
Online and Telephone Counselling offers the flexibility to access therapy no matter where you are.
You can choose between video, email, live chat, or phone. Below you can read about each of these to see if they may be a good fit for you.
Whether due to travel, mobility issues, or simply for greater convenience and privacy, this approach provides the same professional support while fitting more seamlessly into your life.
Therapy can take place from the comfort of your home, a private office, or any space where you feel safe and won’t be interrupted.
If you’re new to therapy, online options like video or text-based counselling can provide a more comfortable entry point, especially if you’re anxious about meeting someone in person.

- Manage anxiety and stress.
- Develop coping strategies for overwhelming emotions.
- Work through personal growth and self-awareness.
- Address challenges in relationships or life changes.
Sessions will be 50 minutes duration and you will receive the same level of attentive care and support as you would in person.
THE OPTIONS AVAILABLE FOR ONLINE THERAPY
I offer four options for online therapy, each lasting 50 minutes:
I think I will have a little graphic for each of these to make them easier to find – I’ll have a quick play on canva…have attached to the email
- Video Counselling: Similar to face-to-face sessions, with the comfort of your chosen private space.
- Telephone Counselling: For those who prefer not to be on camera.
- Instant Messaging Therapy: Live text-based communication, offering immediate support during scheduled sessions.
- Email Therapy: This is particularly good for clients who struggle to meet at the same time every week or during regular working hours. Asynchronous communication that allows time for reflection. I will spend 50 minutes reading and composing a thoughtful reply to your email, ensuring you receive the same time and dedication as in-person therapy.
Text-based or email counselling is useful for those who find it easier to express themselves in writing, allowing time for thoughtful reflection. However, if real-time conversation is more comfortable for you, video or phone counselling can offer a more immediate, personal connection.
Sessions are conducted through secure, encrypted platforms like Vsee or Zoom for video, voice, and instant messaging, and ProtonMail for email. I’ll guide you through setting up these free services, ensuring your privacy and confidentiality.
For online sessions, please choose a quiet, private space where you feel comfortable, and try to use the same location for each session. This consistency can help create a familiar and safe therapeutic environment.
You can discuss anything you would in traditional therapy. However, some complex issues may be better suited to in-person therapy. If we determine that online therapy isn’t the best fit for your needs, we’ll explore other options together.
Online therapy is just as effective as in-person therapy, but there are some differences. For example, we may not have the same visual or auditory cues, such as body language or tone of voice. However, video and phone sessions still offer meaningful emotional support. We will explore and discuss this at your assessment session and we can address any concerns together.
If flexibility, privacy, or convenience are your priorities, online therapy can be a great solution. If you’re unsure which method suits you best, we can begin with a trial session. You’re also free to switch between online, telephone, or in-person sessions as your preferences and needs evolve.
Online therapy may not be appropriate for individuals experiencing acute or severe mental health challenges, such as psychosis or those in need of intensive, face-to-face support. If you’re in crisis, please contact a helpline like Samaritans (116 123) or call emergency services.
I use secure, encrypted platforms to ensure your privacy and confidentiality. Phone sessions are handled with the same level of care. Before we begin, if you would like, I’ll guide you through the technology and address any privacy concerns you might have.
Research shows that online therapy can be just as effective as in-person sessions for a wide range of issues. We’ll focus on clear communication to ensure nothing is misunderstood, and I’ll use my training in various therapeutic approaches, such as Person Centered Counselling and CBT, to provide high-quality care.
I have completed specialist training in online therapy and also adhere to the ethical guidelines recommended by the Association for Counselling and Therapy Online (ACTO). These standards ensure that online therapy is delivered safely and effectively.
The cost for online sessions is the same as for in-person therapy.
